Introduction
HOVERICK is a fashion brand operated by Marvy Brands Inc., based in British Columbia, Canada (“HOVERICK”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect through hoverick.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
The website is in a pre-launch phase. The only way it collects personal information is the optional email sign-up for private access to our first collection. This policy describes the website as it works today. We will update it before we introduce new features, such as online ordering.
Information We Collect
Information you give us
If you register for private access, we collect your email address and your agreement to receive our emails. With it we record when you agreed, the wording you agreed to, where on the page you signed up, and whether your subscription is active or withdrawn.
We do not ask for your name, telephone number, postal address or payment details, and visitors do not have accounts.
Information collected automatically
To protect the sign-up and unsubscribe forms from automated and abusive use, we count recent attempts from each connection. We do not store your IP address for this. We store a one-way coded value derived from it, together with the number of attempts in a ten-minute period. This record is not linked to your email address, and older records are deleted automatically as the form continues to be used.
Like any website, hoverick.com receives technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. Our hosting provider processes this information to deliver the website and protect it from misuse. We do not use it to identify you or to market to you.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools on this website.
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information only to:
- send you news about the first HOVERICK collection, its release and future collections, if you have agreed to receive it;
- keep a record of your consent, and of any withdrawal of it;
- prevent spam and misuse of the sign-up form, and keep the website secure;
- answer your questions and privacy requests;
- meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent or trade subscriber email addresses, and we do not use your information for other purposes without your consent, unless the law requires or permits it.
Marketing Consent and Communications
Your email address is added to our list only if you tick the consent box and submit the form. The box is never ticked in advance, and you can use the rest of the website without signing up.
We have not yet sent any emails to subscribers. When we do, each message will identify HOVERICK and Marvy Brands Inc., include our contact information and give you a simple way to unsubscribe.
Each of these emails will include a personal unsubscribe link. Opening the link shows a confirmation page, and your consent is withdrawn once you confirm there. No sign-in is needed, and the link does not contain your email address. The withdrawal is recorded immediately, and we stop sending marketing emails to that address.
You can also withdraw your consent at any time by emailing contact@hoverick.com, ideally from the address you registered. We will record the withdrawal and stop sending you marketing emails promptly, and in any case within ten business days.
Once you have unsubscribed, signing up again on the website does not restart your subscription. If you would like to receive our emails again, contact us and we will ask you to confirm your consent.
Data Storage and Service Providers
We use two service providers to run the website:
- Vercel hosts the website and processes the technical information described in section 2.
- Neon provides the database in which our subscriber list is stored.
These providers process information on our behalf to provide their services to us. Both are based in the United States, and your information may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where they operate. While it is outside Canada, it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities there under their laws. We remain responsible for personal information we entrust to our service providers.
Security
We protect personal information with safeguards suited to its sensitivity. The website is served only over encrypted connections. The subscriber list is reached only by our server, never directly from your browser, and access to it is limited to authorised HOVERICK personnel through a secure sign-in. We keep as little information as the sign-up requires.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your information, we will take the steps required by applicable law.
Data Retention
We keep your email address and consent record while your subscription is active, and otherwise only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy or to meet legal obligations. We have not set a fixed retention period.
If you withdraw your consent, we stop sending you marketing emails and may keep a record of your address and the withdrawal, so that we can respect your choice. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are required to keep it by law.
Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, including British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used;
- correct information that is inaccurate;
- stop sending you marketing emails;
- delete your information.
Email contact@hoverick.com with your request. We may ask you to confirm that the email address is yours before we act on it, and we will respond within the time required by law.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
The public pages of this website do not set cookies and do not use browser storage, tracking pixels or similar technologies. Cookies are used only in a private administration area, to keep authorised HOVERICK personnel securely signed in.
If we introduce cookies or similar technologies on the public website, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where required.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy when our practices change, for example when our online store opens. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we will ask for your consent where required.
